6 Patriotism

·         First of all we can have assembly on why should the country be litter-free. There can be more bins so that people can throw the litter into a nearby bin easily. We can stop having cleaners for a few days. The pupils in the school will know how much litter is thrown on the floor and how dirty it is. The pupils will know how dirty their environment they study in is and will soon realise to throw their litter into the dustbin.

·         We can ask the art club to help us make posters on not littering. The posters can be hung everywhere in the school. We can have games in which whenever a piece of trash is thrown into a hole you get a ticket. With the tickets you can claim prizes. People will start to look for trash on the floor in order to get tickets.

I hope these methods work!

5 Empathy

·         After Singapore reached its 50s, I felt excessively proud to be a Singaporean. I mean what place turns from a settlement into a first-world metropolis. From riots to harmony, from dependence to independence, from a third world to a first world country and most important: from an island to a nation. We all used to be just an unnoticed dot on the equator and even after people found Singapore, everyone still looked down on it, until the legendary and epic Mr Lee Kuan Yew became our founding father and brought us out of the shadows. So even if Mr Lee has passed away, we should rejoice for giving great old Singapore.
